Here's what we need to let you know about AIMMachine. We've spent a lot of time fine-tuning the system, but some things you may have to get used to.
How come when I sign in my screenname looks different?
First of all, we're too lazy to store the specially-formatted version of your screenname. That's just us. But the real reason is that AOL's Instant Messenger™ servers actually read your screenname without spaces or case sensitivity, so sending a DM to "aimmachine001" would be the same as sending one to "AIM MacHiNe 001". Your messages will still come through.

How do I activate my account?
First, make sure that on the computer you're using, you are signed onto AIM with the screenname you'd like to activate. Then visit www.aimmachine.com and click on the "Activate My Account" link below the login box at left. You will send a message to a bot that will immediately activate your account. That's all there is to it!
How fast will my DM's be sent?
A DM is sent the instant your friend signs on. We're honestly not sure how we could make the message faster than instant, but we'll work on being faster than instant. :-)
How many messages can AIMMachine send at a time?
Currently we have space for about 50,000 messages in queue at one time. This number is growing every day, however, and soon we'll be able to handle millions.
It says 'That screenname is already in use.'
This is because the screenname has already been added to the aimmachine.com database as a new or pending user. If you are a pending user you simply need to send and instant message by clicking the 'Activate My Account' link under the login box to activate your account. If you never signed up at all but you still get this message. It is likely somone else entered your screenname into the system. You can Contact Us and we will try and resolve the situation as best we can.
My friend says they never get my DM's. Why?
There are three reasons your friend may not get your DM.
1. They have the Allow AIM users preference not set to "allow all users to contact me". Thus our bots cannot contact them.
2. Your friend was invisible in AIM. This will keep the bots from "seeing" a screenname.
3. Your buddy never signed on.

What programming language are your bots written in?
Well, we could tell you and then have to do something as sterotypical as kill you. But we like customers. We would also rather that people did not take advantage of any known flaws in the language before we can fix them. But believe us when we say you probably couldn't guess. Seriously, I mean it, you'd never guess.
When will my Delayed Message be delivered?
As soon as your buddy signs on, he or she will get a message from an AIMMachine bot. The bot's screenname will look something like "aimmachine000001", so be on the look out for it if you're online! Of course, the bot will probably not be on your buddy's buddy list, so he'll have to either manually accept the message or set his options to do so.
Why does your site look a little "off" in Internet Explorer?
Yeah, we never got around to fully coding our HTML for IE. That's because IE code is a little like the tax code: you can never quite get it right. So we've decided that if it looks good in Firefox, it looks good enough for us.
